“Blooming Marvellous” - Local Conservative councillors plant crocus bulbs to improve local park
Crocus bulbs were recently planted at Rockingham Road Pleasure Park by your local Conservative councillors for the area, in order to enhance this popular community space.
The area’s County Councillor Bill Parker secured the bulbs through a local Rotary group and they were recently planted by Kevin Thurland and the Borough Councillors for All Saints Ward, Lesley Thurland and Greg Titcombe.
It is hoped that the crocus bulbs will provide a colourful addition to the park when they bloom next Spring, for the benefit of local residents and also pollinator species such as bees.
Cllr Lesley Thurland said: “We are always pleased with the works carried out by Kettering Council’s grounds team and thank them for their hard work around the Pleasure Park. Ours is just a small enhancement that we wanted to add to the enjoyment of everyone next spring, and we thank the Rotary Club and Cllr Bill Parker for the donation of the bulbs.”
